Join us at COCAcon 2024 in Spokane!
COCAcon is coming to Washington this November, and we want you to join us!
As one of the host camps, we’re looking for a handful of volunteers to help throughout the weekend. We also plan to send a limited number of folks to attend the conference, learn from sessions, and bring back great ideas to integrate into camp next summer and beyond.
Interested in attending and/or volunteering? Find more details about COCA and the conference below, and fill out the interest form by September 30th to let us know you’d like to join us.
Please note: volunteer slots and our attendee budget is limited, so we may not be able to accommodate everyone who is interested. However, anyone is invited to pay their own way to attend.
About COCA
The Children’s Oncology Camping Association (COCA) is a national organization that strives to be a leader in serving camps for children with cancer and their families. Their mission is to strengthen, support and connect the international community of camps serving individuals and families affected by childhood cancer.
About conference
COCA holds an annual conference for oncology camping professionals and volunteers across the United States and Canada to provide the opportunity to network, hear from field experts, and learn from one another.
2024 Conference:
November 14–17, 2024
Davenport Grand Hotel, Spokane WA
Full-conference registration fee: $450
Single-day registration fee: $250
Conference attendees participate in sessions across a variety of topics to learn best practices, build skills to advance their camp program, and bring new ideas back to their organization.
Session tracks include programming, staff development, operations/leadership, fundraising, child development, and medical sessions that are CEU eligible.
attend or volunteer
We have budgeted to bring a small group of Goodtimes volunteers to join us at the conference as attendees. Folks can attend the whole conference, or a single-day depending on interest and availability.
With the conference coming to our home state, we have stepped up to help plan and organize the weekend alongside other PNW camps. This means we are looking for a few volunteers to help with things like manning the registration table, acting as session hosts to introduce speakers, setting up the awards banquet and silent auction, and other jobs to help the conference run smoothly.
